: : : : : I am 30, married, have 2 young boys & am considering moving over to Castlebar from Kent.
: : : : : Sell it to me !
: : : : : What are the job opertunities i can expect to encounter if we do move?
: : : : : Where should i start looking?
: : : : : What is the best nursery school in the area?
: : : : : What sort of nights out are there for my decrepid age range.
: : : : :
: : : : we to live in kent and are also moving to Castlebar. We have two children, one of six and one of three months. We are moving because of my husbands company is relocating his job out there. We are curious as to why you are considering moving out there?

: : : There are lots of reasons really:-my mother is from Swinford so I have a lot of family there, from my grandparents to two aunts & an uncle, their families & lots of other peripheral family links. Also, the standard of education in Ireland is, I have read, amongst the best in Europe.
: : : I have lived there before, for a short period, before I got married but work was very scarce at the time & it never worked out.
: : : I love Irish music-Tommy Flemming in particular. I love the way of life & the friendliness of the people. If I could manage to secure a decent job the 2 hrs a day extra I would get with the boys, saved from travelling time would be great. I also love fishing, painting & sport.
: : : My husband is Scottish of distant Irish descent so he loves all things Irish.
: : : Shall I go on!
: : : When are you planning on going?

: : We will probably be moving to Castlebar in early October if we can find a good school for our six year old. I am a bit apprehensive as i will not know a soul.

: From what I have seen for myself & been told by others, as long as you don't get too home sick, you will not be sorry.
: Have you any Irish connections?
: Do you plan on working yourself?
Neither myself or my husband have any Irish connections. As i have a three month old baby i doubt if i will work although it would be a good way of getting to know people.
What part of Kent do you come from?
When are you thinking of going?
We're going over next week to look at a few schools in the area.
