What about the infamous Nurses Strike? Does that not deserve a mention for the Millenium?
Or the phasing out of the Lounge bar and the introduction of the Trad pub? Very momentus I think!
Well to add a few others, you could mention Walton (the physicist to discovered our present conception of the atom), Buffalo Bill (Grand-parents were Irish believe it or not), Oh what's his name - the Irish Architect who designed the White House (not on the Westport Road),
Events? Live Aid and Sir Bob, Ireland's show of charity during same event (most donations per capita of any country in the world)....
There's quite a few famous Paddies out there when you start to think about it. And of course Van the Man; the greatest Musician ever, and, some would say, the inventor of Punk! (True believe it or not!!).
