be japers man do ya not know about the great analls of The Races of Castlebar, The Cattle stampede down Knockthomas hill, John Moores inaurguration as President of Connaught and the Big ensuing Piss ups in the Town Hall and the Humbert Inn with the man himself as guest of honor of the president (and his right hand man General Sarasen I think his name was).
Wild craic of a w/e in August of 1798 by all accounts. Course the Brits soon put an end to the party a few weeks laster in Ballinamuck in Longford but not after a few mosre piss ups in Frenchill, Coolloney in Sligo and aa few more places.
Dunno if ya can proclaim yer creditentals as a Castlebar man at all anymore. But then perhaps ya never said that anyway!!!!!
