First off the descrambler may be legal in the United States but if it can do what it claims to be able to do it is definitely ILLEGAL in Ireland (Broadcasting Act 1990 If anyone cares to look it up) On the other hand "it's only illegal if youre caught".
Secondly most cable systems in Ireland anr NOT scrambled (excpt for Premium movie and sports channels) so its rather pointless (although the Cork City cable system and some MMDS cells are encrypted)
