The Directors of the European Investment bank are likely to put off a decision on the nomination of the former Supreme Court judge, Mr Hugh O'Flaherty, as a Vice President of the bank. The twenty-five directors are due to return a written indication of their preference for the nomination by lunchtime today.
This morning the Bank indicated that only a handful of directors had forwarded a written opinion on Mr O'Flaherty's candidacy, making it likely that the matter will go forward to a scheduled board meeting next month.
