I never said that there is no money in Castlebar but it is hardly the land of Milk and Honey either. Despite all this ..(deleted word).. the media keep feeding us about this blasted "celtic tiger" there are just as many families struggling to make ends meet.
Nobody HAS to wear Levi's (if one did wouldnt that be just another "uniform") or any other ripoff designer crap. You can get a perfecty good pair of trousers in Pennys for less than one third the price. besides what are the kids going to wear when they meet their mates outside of school hours.
The proplem here is one of kids who cannot think for themselves (not that they get much encouragment nowadays but thats another story) and parents who cant say no. School uniforms arent really a solution to either problem.
Also (not really relavent in Castlebar hopefully but it is up here) Is it really a good idea to have kids going around in pubic wearing clothes which advertise which School they go to ....
