Cedar Group Plc, a Surrey, UK-based software and services
group, is strengthening its position in the public services
market with the purchase for up to 4.84m pounds ($6.7m) of
Orbis Software Ltd, which provides software and services to UK
police forces. It is buying Orbis from Leading Software Group
Ltd as a way of finding a larger market for its enterprise
application. Orbis, which had revenue of 1.8m pounds ($2.5m),
is strong in the human resource sector and aims to build up its
customer base in other public services.
