According to RTE........
'One in five of Irish adults is obese, according to new research out today.
40% of men, and a 25% of women were found to be overweight. In 1997 the
World Health Organisation declared obesity to be a 'global epidemic' due to
its associated risks. Obese people are more likely to be at risk of heart
disease, hypertension, stroke, diabetes and even certain cancers.'
