Scrawny mentioned he was thinking of buying a Nokia 3210 the other day. I already have one (on Orange) and IMHO they are very over-rated because
1) It is impossible to put password protection on the phone while its switched on so you have to be careful about where you leave it lying around (I could switch it off but that would defeat the purpose)
My old Panaonic (digifone) one could do this.
2) It is still possible to dial 999 (the old emergency number) on the phone with the lock on. The danger here is that with the phone in your pocket its very easily for the 9 key to be accidently pressed a few times resulting in nuisance calls to the emergency service
3) I find that coverage on the 1800 MHz Orange network to be fairly poor (although it is OK on the Southern 960 MHz networks). Some of my mates have other models of phone on the Orange network and they dont have any problems. as Eircell and Digifone are currently upgrading to dual band and Meteor (The proposed third Irish network) will probably be 1800 Mhz only
4) Typing text messages on it takes a bit of getting used to
