The sppedlimit is set primaraly by the phrase
"Motorists should travle at a speed suitable for the road the are on"
This means that on back roads motorists should not be tryiong to get up to sixty but should remain at a safe pace for their road.
The Maximum speed allowed on Irish roads IS 60mph (going up to 70mph on our limited motorway network)
There are also local speed restrictions (ie towns/villages)
As for slow, drivers there is ownness of a driver to make "resonable progress" Slow drivers are responsible for a sizeable propotion of accedents.Usualy broughtabout by faster drivers "trying" to over take on dangerous locations on the roads.
Unfortuinally prosucations of slow drivers is very rare and hard to bring a conviction about.
