A lot of parents dont give a **** what their kids get up to.

underage drinking isint really the problem in itself but kids drinking EXCESSIVELY and becoming a nuisance and danger is a problem but then again so are "adults" who drinking excessively and becoming a nuisance and danger to themselves and everyone else and herein lies the problem.

If kids see adults behaving in this manner naturally they are going to follow suit. Among a large selection of the propulation the following practices are seen as acceptable

1) Using the slightest occasion (e.g. A football match between the Falkland Islands and Outer Mongolia) as an excuse to get plastered

2) Using being drunk as an excuse to justify just about any type of behaviour (How often do you hear the "I was drunk at the time used as a defence in court")

3) Going out until all hours drinking and then turning up either hungover or still under the influence at work/school/college the next day

4) pressurising others to drink excessively

5) driving after drinking

As long as such behavior is seen as acceptable by "adults" this is what kids will aspire to as well
