Jesus Christ - Fortycoats, I think you'd best take a chill pill - you don't know me so my advice to you is to keep your mouth shut (and fingers away from a keyboard).
It seems only one person was perceptive enough to realise what I was going on about (played Mr. Kenny). I don't for one minute suggest that everyone learns the difference between FAT 32 and NTFS (or other such trivial things nerds like me care about), I merely said that if someone of average intelligence like me can learn advanced computing in 2 weeks, everyone should be able to make a bit of time to learn the basics (like using the web, or sending an email).
In this day and age and with the services available (thank you Chamber of Commerce and Info Age people), there's no excuse for not knowing it. And, if someone doesn't want to use it, fine, but they should know how - you never know when you'd need it.
Think about a senior citizen in their house - not really able to go out, but they could fire up a PC and talk to tesco.ie (or even johnhanleys.com) and have their shopping delivered! And if you think this example is daft, think again - it's an ideal use of the Internet and I know there are a lot of senior citizens who take comfort in the fact that they're able to do things like this for themselves and not relying on others.
That is all.
