Last Thursday evening the final rounds of the club Photographer of The Year took place. This competition started in September 2006 and has a round a month since on a variety of themes. The final round saw members really getting back to basics with 35mm disposable film cameras to be used for the final round. 7 contestants entered their work which was of an exceptionally high standard and shows that if you have the eye the equipment is of minor importance.

In third place came Rory Casey, second Sheridan Gilmartin and in First place by a single point margin our Photographer of the Year; Michael Gannon. This competition is now done and dusted until next September when it all starts over again.

Congratulations to all who took part and the accumulated scores over the season show the impotance of entering each round, Congratulations to our winner and the three close also rans and we look forward to another great seasons photography starting next September.
