Apologies for our omission last week of the results of The Monthly Competition with a numbers theme:

·          1st. place  black & white; Sheridan Gilmartin,

·          2nd. Michael Gannon,

·          3rd; Olga Zapletalova.

·          1st.place colour print; Dervilla Conroy,

·          2nd; Martin Srepanek,

·          3rd. Sheridan Gilmartin.

·          In slides/projected images there was only one entrant; Dick Heraty, who provided a nice selection of images to round off the evening.

For Thursday 30th Nov. members are looking forward to an evening of practical basic Photoshop on computer and as well as direct input from digital cameras the scanning of films and prints will also be demonstrated so all photographers, film and digital will be catered for. This session will be led by Sheridan Gilmartin, Kevin Murphy and Michael Gannon, so to get the hang of Photoshop basics, Room SR14, GMIT, Castlebar, is the place to be on November 30th.

Last Thursday evening the still life practical session was a very interesting and enjoyable session. Members got a chance to try out some of the many aspects of this interesting area of photography and get inspiration on what to do when the elements conspire against outdoor photography.
