On Thursday evening 17th May at 8.00pm sharp, camera club members are getting together in room SR14, GMIT, Castlebar for a session of projected images from colour slides. Many people had predicted the demise of colour slide photography with the advent of projected digital images, but some members have kept using that medium and others are now using it in parallel with their digital work. This promises to be a most interesting session so do be there in time for a great evening of good photography.

Last Thursday evening the contestants in the club Photographer of the Year Competition were each handed a small disposable film camera and instructed to use them for the next couple of weeks and be back with their finished results for Thursday May24th and to produce a good panel of work from their efforts plus an entry of 6 prints for the final round. In effect this is a double barrelled round and we look forward to seeing the best efforts of our photographers with this very basic piece of equipment. When this round is judged the results will be tabulated and the winners announced and presented with their enormous prizes!

Also under discussion last Thursday was the shape of the Summer Outings Program, this will be finalised this Thursday and is already keenly anticipated.

If you are interested do drop in to the Camera Club meetings between now and month end, we would be delighted to meet you.
