Prism

Prism is the largest E-Commerce Initiative for SMEs in Ireland, involving 25 Chambers of Commerce delivering an Internet Business Strategy Course to a minimum of 500 SMEs and creating awareness of Internet Opportunities among 3,000 small businesses nationwide.

What is Prism:
Prism is funded under the EU Adapt Initiative and led by Chambers of Commerce of Ireland with matching funding and support coming from Telecom Eireann.

What Prism means for the participant:

On completion of the course you will understand the role and potential of the internet in your own business, have the basic skills to use relevant Internet Applications, be aware of the strategic issues you need to address to establish a Web Site and have begun to develop an Internet Strategy for your business.

Certification:

Maria Quinn - Executive Director Castlebar Chamber of Commerce, will deliver the programme. Maria is a certified instructor with ICII - Internet Certification Institute International. ICII have approved this programme and the Chambers of Commerce of Ireland will award successful participants a Certificate in Internet Business Strategy.

National Prism Award Winning Course

The success of the Castlebar course can be judged by the fact the Horkan's Garden Centre scooped both the Western Region Prism and National Prism prizes. Paraic Horkan, who undertook the course at Castlebar Chamber of Commerce, Spencer Street, received the National Prism Award from Alfie Kane of eircom at a function in the Conrad Hotel on 19 May 2000.
