Barry Jordan - A composed intelligent footballer; son of Kevin one of Breaffy's finest ever footballers. He was fullback on the Mayo Vocational Schools' All Ireland winning team and a member of this years Mayo Minor squad which reached this years All-Ireland Final. He's sure to receive lots of footballing advice from his new boss !
Declan Gannon - A very brave footballer who pulls back from nothing in his pursuit of the ball. Sure to be on the team in the years ahead.
Ray Kirrane - Joined our club this season. A rugged hard tackling defender currently on the injured list.
Keith Hopkins - A very skilful defender and an extremely accurate passer of the ball. Celebrated his elevation to the Senior team by going on holiday and missing the next game.
Pat O'Brien - An extremely stylish player and a prodigious kicker of long frees. Has been "nailed" a few times this year! Thumbs up for Babs!!
Mark Fahey - A hard hitting, tenacious defender and a former Mayo Minor. Somewhat injury prone this year; anything to "milk" a bit of sympathy. Spotted in London a few times this year.
Conrad Coghill - A wholehearted, tigerish defender who had a "Byrneing" ambition to beat Castlebar in this year's league encounter. Greets hard training sessions on cold wintry nights with a big smile, a positive word and a woolly hat.
Frank Scully - An excellent young and talented goalie with great prospects for the future. A member of the successful Mayo Vocational Schools team this year.
Daniel Breen - This is another talented young player with a bright future. When on form his powerful displays at midfield are capable of turning games.
Colm Lyons - A high fielding, very accurate footballer who has been Breaffy's main goalscorer this year. A former Mayo Minor his season has been somewhat interrupted by injury. ( Luckily he had someone to hold his hand during his hospital stay.) Wants to be a Grand Prix driver when he grows up!!
Paul Jennings - A tremendous footballer (when present) Currently unavailable because..... well, your guess is as good as mine!
Robert Fahey - A very athletic high fielding midfielder. Son of the legendary Paul. Has represented Mayo at U-21 level. Currently a bit of a pain in the neck.
Pat Tonra - The Senior player of the squad. Has given wonderful service to Breaffy teams down the years. An All-Ireland medal winner with Mayo at over forty level. It's reckoned that Pat holidays in Tir na nÓg each year
James McDonnell - Joined Breaffy this year on a free transfer from Balla under the Bosman ruling. A steely ( forgive the pun) defender who loves nothing better than to go on a sortie up the field. Has crossed one or two referees off his Christmas card list this year.
Danny Fahey - Another member of the Fahey family dynasty. A naturally talented footballer. Has all the skills in abundance. Currently taking a break from football.
David Cusack - An extremely fit, close marking defender who makes life extremely difficult for his immediate opponent. Has settled into the half-back line in recent months. Enjoys camping trips to Achill on holiday weekends.
Barry Basquille - A tigerish gutsy footballer who is sure to hold down a permanent place on the first team before too long. A former Mayo U-16 player. A red-head _ he has the temperament to match.
Thieron Coghill - A quick elusive forward with a good eye for a score. Currently starring with Ballyheane F.C. in the Premiership alongside Greg Flynn. Hopefully we'll see him back in the Breaffy colours before too long.
Kieran Doyle - An extremely intelligent footballer - equally at home in the forwards and the backs. A lower back injury ruled him out for a number of months this season. Happily however he's now back plumbing away in his customary efficient and stylish manner.
Ollie Cunningham - Had an extremely successful soccer career before returning to his roots. Married to Clare. The best shot stopper in Mayo, he's loved by opposing forwards for his quiet and unassuming manner on the field of play. Voted Mr. Body Beautiful by the Breaffy fans.
Kevin Scahill - A tremendous footballer and a real speed merchant. A tight marking corner back with wonderful anticipation. He dazzles his immediate opponent with both his footballing skill and the colour of his hair.
Seán Mc'Cormack - A very popular inspirational " Bullish" defender who lifts the team with his hard tackling and surging runs. In an effort to improve the fitness levels of some club members he has insisted on them pushing his van on occasions!
Kenneth Walshe - The fastest man on the team. An extremely talented, high scoring forward. He has represented Mayo at U-21 level. Had a sickening experience at training recently.
Paddy Thomas - A very good footballer and an even better actor and singer. Sure to be an important member of the team in the years ahead.
Greg Flynn - back playing Gaelic Football during his enforced absence from soccer. An extremely fit hard working player.
Marty McNicholas - A hugely talented forward with a wonderful side step. A former Mayo Minor, he is currently a member of the U-21 panel and is sure to wear the County Senior colours before too long.
Cormac O'Reilly - A speedy, hard working half-forward. In a rich scoring vein at present (thanks to his new boots). Loves training !!
John Connor - A very strong footballer and a very popular member of the panel. Striving to get back to full fitness, having spent a number of years in America as an advisor to Bill Clinton.
Gerry Jennings - A fabulous athlete and a very versatile player. Has been known to beat opponents five or six times with his silky skills and quick footwork before sending the ball narrowly wide.
Eddie Conroy - What an athlete ! Terrorises defenders with his lightning speed and ball carrying skills. Has been so popular with so many referees this year that many of them have insisted on taking down his name.
Matthew Conroy - A stylish footballer and a very good point taker (pint puller!). Has broken into the Senior team and is sure to be one of the mainstays of the team in the years to come. Wears more ear rings than Bet Lynch.
Declan Jennings - A hugely influential player on the team. Very skilful and committed. A member of the Mayo U-21 team that reached the All-Ireland in 1993 and a former member of the Mayo Senior panel. Hasn't scored recently (on the football field either!!).
J.P. Gibbons - A very dedicated member of the squad. He played a number of matches with the second team. Unbeatable in certain competitions during our pre-season trip to Sligo and has also been known to enjoy camping weekends in Achill.
David Sheridan - A strong defender, he has joined the panel in recent months. A player for the future, his pace is said to be electric (in fact they say that everything about him is electric).
Seán Grealis - Currently on the injured list. Prefers to get guys to climb "Everest" rather than training himself. Old age is setting in but still has the "heart". Married to Mary.
Jim O'Shea (Manager) - Has led the team from Junior level to Division 1 and Senior status during his tenure in charge. Married to Sheila. The Club is "banking" on this highly respected former Senior Kerry player staying at the helm for many years to come.
Páraic Walshe (Selector) - A tremendous worker and organiser. Wore the Breaffy colours with distinction for many years. An astute reader of the game. Married to Margaret. He has no peers at fundraising.
M.J. Reddington (Selector) - What can one say about the man from Dunmore that hasn't been said already by Seán Mac? A hugely effective Chairman of the club before taking up his position as selector. A man who sets and expects high.
