Breaffy GAA Club have acquired 7.5 acres of land approx., near Ballyheane village for the purpose of providing an all weather playing surface and other facilities such as car park, stand, dressing rooms and a meeting room.
This is a vital development firstly to relieve the over-trafficked pitch at Breaffy and secondly to promote our games in the Ballyheane, Errew and Derrywash areas.
This is a major venture for the Club and it is intended to fund it with a Lotto to be launched after Christmas.
Work has already commenced with the construction of an access road to the ground and it is hoped to commence work on the playing surface before the end of November. The completion target for the pitch is July 2001.
On completion of the proposed work at Cornaveigh, Breaffy Club will have two first class facilities to be used for the benefit of the community it serves. It is also proposed to provide a Clubhouse at Breaffy.
