BREAFFY RECORD HOME VICTORY

Breaffy……………0-11
Ballinrobe…………1-6

Breaffy celebrated a victory in their first home game on Sunday in the Senior League. The opening point came from Breaffy's Eddie Conroy in the first minute. In a first half played at an incredible pace the big and vocal attendance watched as both team traded points. In this half both teams were taking their points well, with a very good long range effort from Ballinrobe's Mark Walkin. However it was Breaffy who finished stronger at the interval after points from the three full forwards. Ballinrobe began the second half with good pressure but failed to convert this to points on the board, a particular good effort by Adrian Flannery going wide off the upright. Ballinrobe brought the attendance to their feet with a excellent bust through the centre and a resulting goal from R. Keane. Breaffy brought in Kieran Doyle for Colm Reilly early in the second half. After falling behind Breaffy were unlucky not to have a goal from Martin Conroy, however the point was picked up to bring the sides level at 0-8 to 1-5.
However the remaining of the action belonged to Breaffy with two superb points from Marty McNichlos and point from Colm Lyons after the crossbar denied the goal.
