Employment Legislation
New Employment Equality Act States:
" Discrimination can occur on both pay and
non-pay grounds on the basis of sex, marital status, sexual
orientation, religious beliefs, age (18 to 65), disability (mental
or physical), race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin and
membership of the travelling community"
Advertising
It is illegal to discriminate or indicate an
intention to discriminate on any grounds covered.
Disability
It is not unlawful to provide a person with a disability a special
rate of remuneration for particular work, if because of that disability
they are restricted in their capacity to do the same amount of work as
persons employed without the disability.
Remuneration
Equal claims to be allowed between employees of
associate employers where the terms and conditions of
employment are the same or reasonably comparable
between the two employments.
Sexual Harassment
This includes any act of physical intimacy, any
express request for sexual favours or any act or conduct
a reasonable person would consider to be sexually
offensive, humiliating or intimidating.
