Literacy Problems in Ireland
Volunteer tutors usually work with their students once a week for approximately 2 hours.

Preparation time for these sessions is also required.

Volunteers are expected to make a commitment to their scheme for at least 15 months and to undertake regular in-service training.

If you are interested in becoming a literacy tutor contact your Adult Education Organiser in the V.E.C., your local Literacy Organiser, or NALA

If you know someone, who needs help with any of the following:
Reading, writing, spelling, letter-writing, basic English, job applications and or communications skills.
