We hope that you find this site helpful in finding out more about the family support services on offer here at The Family Centre.

Among the services offered at the centre are counselling, bereavement support, family mediation and legal advice. These services are offered in a warm, caring, confidential environment.

Our counselling and mediation staff are professionally trained and accredited with the relevant accrediting bodies. In addition to these services we also offer a range of educational and training courses in personal development, family/parenting, bereavement/loss and faith/spirituality.

Family Life Services was established in 1995 by the Catholic Archdiocese of Tuam in association with the Health Services Executive and the Dept. of Social & Family Affairs.

  • Enabling and empowering families and individuals to develop their own resources for more creative and effective living.
  • Assisting parishes in the implementation of their ministry to family life.

 Objectives:

  • Provide support for families and individuals through counselling, education and training.
  • Care for those in crisis.
  • Work in collaboration with other statutory/voluntary agencies in needs identification and service innovation that will advance family welfare.
  • Develop support services/ programmes on an outreach basis.

Our service recognises the various forms family life takes in Ireland today.

Our services are available to all members of the community regardless of social class or religious belief.
