What is Glór Mhaigh Eo?Glór Mhaigh Eo Teoranta is a registered private limited company established for the purpose of promoting the Irish Language and Culture throughout County Mayo in association with Bord na Gaeilge/An Foras Teanga.
A plan submitted by the company, in response to a new 'Bilingualism in Action' initiative announced by Bord na Gaeilge in Autumn, 1998, was one of five selected for funding from 96 entries throughout the country, and the company is now in the process of implementing the plan throughout Mayo.
The company employs almost twenty people on a FÁS Community Employment Scheme in various locations throughout the county. These people are employed on projects which are aimed at furthering their own personal skills and the aims of Glór Mhaigh Eo.
Would you like to help?/Can we help you?It is all so very simple! We are hoping to create an atmosphere where Irish is heard, seen and accepted as a normal part of our culture and heritage in this, the first year of the new milennium in Ireland.

- If you already can speak Irish fluently, then perhaps you may wish to help others in your spare time.
- If you are one of the many people who would like to 'brush up' on their knowledge of Irish at informal 'Coffee Mornings', Cúpla Focal' clubs, Ciorcail Cómhrá, formal classes, etc., then we would like to help you.
- If you do not understand one word of Irish but like to be able to say 'please' and 'thankyou' as Gaeilge, we would like to hear from you.
- If you own or manage a business and are interested in displaying bilingual signs, inside or outside of your premises, we can help you.
- If you are a member of a social or cultural organisation and would like to organise your own group, please let us know.
