every ticket sold, the club will receive £30. James Rocke is coordinating

adult player and family with underage players is encouraged to buy a
ticket. Monies raised will go to the further development of football and
hurling within the club. Tickets are available from the following:
Members of the famous Castlebar junior team known as the
'Ainsworth Babes' who won the West Mayo title for the first
time in 1961 will be honoured at the Mitchels dinner. They beat Achill in
the West Mayo final. The Mitchels Senior football team have been invited to
take part in the Irish Independent (Paidi O Se) football tournament in
Ventry on the weekend of Saturday/Sunday 17th and 18th February. A group
of approx 30 players will be travelling. Other teams taking part include
Fingallians (Dublin), Gaeltacht (Kerry), Simonstown Gaels (Meath),
Tirconaill Gaels (London), Dingle (Kerry). Training commenced a number of weeks ago and continues on
Sunday mornings (9.30 a.m) (outdoor), Wednesdays and Fridays (indoors) at
7.30 p.m. Team manager Joe McCabe is very happy with the response
he is getting to training so far. All roads lead to McHale Park on Sunday when the National League resumes with Mayo entertaining Clare in Round 4 of the league. The match is likely to be at 2.30 p.m. Any one available for stewarding should contact James Rocke and report to McHale Park one hour before the game. McHale Park will celebrate its 70th anniversary in May of this year. In May 1931 McHale Park was opened and Mayo played Kildare in the first inter-county game at the venue. The club is planning to commemorate the occasion in May. Martin Moran is finalising plans to attract a top county team to play Mayo in a challenge match. More details on this later.
A finance subcommittee chaired by Monica Joyce is to be formed to coordinate fundraising efforts on behalf of all areas of the club. The subcommittee will have representatives from Bord na nOg, the hurling club and the senior football club.
