Michael is a native of Cornamona, Co. Galway. Won Intermediate honours with Clonbur in 1977. Married to Mary, with three children. A research officer with Teagasc by profession. Became involved with Bórd na nÓg first in 1993. Chairman of Bórd na nÓg in 1996 and 1997. Among his other interests are fishing and politics. His two sons, James and Michael play underage for the club while daughter Catherine participates in Scor. Appointed chairman of senior club at recent AGM. Back to top |

James Rocke |

James is a native of Ballinameen, Co. Roscommon. Played football with his local club from 1973 to 1980. Married to Kathleen. They have four sons. A Financial Controller with Western Care by profession. A member of the Western Health Board team that won the All-Ireland Inter-firms Championship in 1982. Has been an active member of Bórd na nÓg since 1990. A keen referree in his day. Appointed as youth development officer with the county board in 2000. Has also served as PRO with county Bórd na nÓg for a number of years. His sons Patrick, Michael, Jamie and Adrian play with various underage teams. Secretary of the club since 2000. Back to top |

Benji Smith |

Eamon 'Benji' was born in Ennis, Co. Clare. A self employed accountant by profession. Came to Castlebar in 1993. A member of the club since the mid 90's. Played minor and under 21 football and senior league football with Limerick. Has played junior and Intermediate football with Mitchels. Winner of a West Junior medal in 2000. Also a selector on the Mayo hurling team in 2000. Treasurer of the club since 2000. Also a selector on the minor team in 2001. Plays a little golf in his spare time. Back to top |

Martin Moran |

Martin is a native of Mohill, Co. Leitrim. Won every football honour in Leitrim apart from Minor and Under 21. Married to May. They have three daughters and two sons. A Revenue Inspector by profession. One of the youngest players on the team that won the Leitrim senior championship in 1971. Has been actively involved with the club since the mid 90's and served as Treasurer of Bord na Nog for a number of years. Managed the club's Intermediate and a number of underage teams. Manager of the Under 14 team which won the All Ireland Feile competition in 1999. His sons Barry and Ronan play underage football with the club. Appointed Football Board Chairman in 2000. Leo Doherty |

Leo is a native of Dublin. Brother of Sean who captained Dublin to the All Ireland title in 1974. Married to Jacinta and has four sons. Owner of a retail outlet on Main Street. Winner of a Junior championship medal (1968) with Ballyboden Wanderers, a County Intermediate medal (1971) and a Junior hurling medal (1973) with Ballyboden St. Enda's. Moved to Castlebar in 1976. Captain of the Mitchels senior team that won the county title in 1978. Senior captain from 1978 - 1980. Played senior hurling with the club from 1980-1985 and senior hurling with Mayo from 1981 - 1983. Manager of the senior team from 1985 - 1989 during which time they won two county titles. Chairman of the club from 1989 - 1994. Development Officer since 1994. Has overseen the development of McHale Park to one of the finest stadia in the country. Back to top |

Joe McCabe |

Joe is a native of Ballymahon, Co. Longford. He is married to Marie and has two children. Joe is a teacher in St.Gerald's College, Castlebar. He played senior football for Longford for many years. Joe joined the club in the early 1990's and won a senior championship medal in 1993 and a West Junior Championship medal in 2000. Joe was joint manager of the Mayo minor team that was defeated by Down in the All Ireland final in 1999. He is actively involved with St. Gerald's College football team. Joe is Manager of McHale Park since 2000 and was appointed senior team manager and club coach in 2001. Back to top |

Philip is a native of Partry. Played a little football with Ballinrobe C.B.S. in his school days. A motor mechanic by profession. Married with 2 children. A member of the club since the mid-1980's. Served on McHale Park Committee for a number of years. Chairman of Bórd na nÓg in 1995 and 1996 when Mitchels under 10 team won the All-Ireland Community Games title. One of the stalwarts in promoting the club's lotto. Enjoys serving as an umpire and driving underage teams to matches. Re-appointed Chairman of Bórd na nÓg in 2001. Back to top |

Joan Feeney |

Joan is a native of Bonniconlon. She comes from a well known foot-balling family. Her five brothers all played football for Bonniconlon. Joan's husband Jimmy won a senior championship medal with Mitchel's in 1978. She has three in family and is a member of Bórd na nÓg for a number of years. Her son Emmet plays underage football for Mitchel's and is also a good basketball and soccer player. Joan loves all types of sports. Joan is also Secretary of the Davitt College Parents Association. 'Tipperary' Tony was born in Holycross, Co. Tipperary. Married to Deirdre. Has one son. Insurance underwriter with EC Insurances on Chapel Street. Member of Castlebar Mitchels club since 1995. Won under 16 (1973) and under 21 (1978) county hurling medals. Also won a county junior football medal in 1982. Member of the Mayo Hurling team for the last three years. Manager of the Castlebar senior hurling team since 1997. Currently chairman of the hurling club and member of the finance subcommittee. Also actively involved in underage hurling within the club.
