MONDAY NIGHT BRIDGE CLUB Castlebar Golf Club, Rocklands, Castlebar. e-mail: mnbclub@eircom.net Our bridge club was founded in Castlebar in 1992 by novice players who felt that there was no suitable club in which they could play. They enlisted the help of experienced players and set up the Monday Night Bridge Club. Originally, the club held separate competitions for novices and experienced players, but eventually a handicap system was introduced and all players now compete against each other in the same competitions. The Club meets every Monday night, from the end of September to the end of March, at 8.00 p.m. in Castlebar Golf Club. Due to lack of space membership is restricted to 60 players. There is always a waiting list, with preference given to novice players. There are four competitions held in the club annually. Twice a year we have competitions for bottles. The Christmas Competition is a very enjoyable affair with prizes for all competitors. And our major competition is the President's Prize, the last event of the season, held over three nights in March. We have a notice board facility for anyone who would like to contact us.
