Spectator sports are very popular in France such as: soccer, rugby, tennis, polo, bullfighting, horse-racing and of course the well-known Tour De France. The Tour De France is a bicycle race, which began in 1903 and has lured the world's professional cyclists. The competitors have to travel 4,030 kilometres over a pain-staking course in the hope of reaching the finish successfully in the Avenue de Champs Elysees in Paris. The winner is awarded a yellow jersey. Winning this event is a cyclist's greatest achievement.
