onour Thy Father And Mother" sounds very easy doesn't it? Ah! Yes! We will honour while they complain give out and moan about youth to day and how we are good for nothing layabouts. "While in my day we brought home the turf and made hay and fed cattle" etc. etc. etc. Yes, in our modern world lets all go and act like cavemen and pull big lumps of muck out of a wet, cold and smelly hole in the ground. Let's go and feed big smelly animals, which we know make no money out of. The way people lived in our parent's time would be considered as substandard living in 1999,so why do they want us to grow up like them?They complain about us going out all the time. I mean they had to have gone out too when they were young. They just didn't go to bed when it got dark after having a reel around the kitchen. You could stay at home and watch a film on the telly, you have already seen before and listen to them go on and on and on, or you could go and meet your friends and we can all complain about our parents.
They also seem to have no problem shaming us in public. Pulling out a big tissue and rubbing something off your face that was never there. Yap on loudly to your friend about your medical complaints and where that wasp stung you last summer.
Honouring them, oh yeah that's easy, but I think, no, I know, that the eleventh commandment should be "listen to thy children", but that's never going to happen. And why do they make us go to mass either, we never listen.
