Local School Kids win Ford Tag Rugby Mini Bus.

The kids from 5th. and 6th. class in St. Patrick's Boys National School, Castlebar won the first ever Ford Tag Mini Bus in Ireland.

Under the supervision of Connacht Branch IRFU, Youth Development Officer, Jim Herring, teachers Seamus Devaney, James Armstrong and Principal Vincent Mc Hale, the kids from the Local National School were chosen as the number one school in the Countyr, by an IRFU Ford Tag Rugby Committee to receive the coveted prize.

The School proved throughout the 2000/2001 school season that they excelled in every area that they were asked to take part. They participated in all Ford Tag Rugby Blitzes, Festivals and in the highlight of the Ford Tag Rugby year, the Connacht Ford Tag Rugby Extravaganza.

Tommy Conneelly, Provincial Development Manager said, "The School deservedly won the Ford Tag Mini Bus due to their hard work over the last twelve months. They are a credit to their teachers, school and parents. The Connacht Branch and everyone involved in Connacht rugby are delighted with this great news."

The Bus was officially handed over to the school on Monday, 15th. October 2001. Officials from the IRFU and St. Patrick's BNS were present at a pre-launch meeting in Casey's Ford Castlebar just prior to the launch and many supporters were present

St. Patrick's BNS, Castlebar are to play the winners of the Northern Competition in a Tag Rugby match before the Ireland v. England Game this coming Saturday at Lanesdowne Road.
