Tidy Town AGM

Castlebar Tidy Town Committee held their AGM in the TF Hotel last week. A large audience reelected Noel Byrne as Chairman, John Page as Secretary and Ger Deere as PRO. An informative discussion took place on the results of the past year including the overall Tidy Town Competition, the IBAL report and the independent audit of the town.

A considerable number of projects were discussed for the coming year. It was also agreed that the monthly meetings would be held on the first Monday of each month in the TF Royal Hotel at 8 pm and that these meetings would be open to all to attend.

It was also agreed that a presentation night would be held in November at which the winners of the various competitions run over the summer months would be announced.

An awareness day would be held in early March. The support of the Town Manager, Town Council and councilors, the town gardener as well as all the resident groups, schools, chamber of commerce, sports organisations and the general public were acknowledged.
