‘COMMUNITY RADIO' CASTLEBAR TO RELEASE BEFRIENDING THE BURMESE

Bringing docudrama to Mayo with the ‘Sound and Vision' Team.

CRC FM is set to air the docudrama Befriending the Burmese. This programme will document the initiatives being implemented by the Mayo Intercultural Action (M.I.A) which is currently helping the Karen Community to integrate into mainstream society. Although large numbers of people migrate between borders on a daily basis, no journey is more daunting than that undertaken by a person who is part of a refugee resettlement programme. The Karen people from Burma are now part of life in county Mayo and have become part of the fabric of both Castlebar and Ballina. This has offered the Karen people a new beginning and has exposed the wider community to culture and technology which would have been inaccessible back in their homeland. The program will air on Monday, March 14th at 20.00 on CRC 102.9fm.

The CRC FM ‘Sound and Vision' Team is committed to bringing exciting, informative and relevant docudrama to the people of mayo and the wider Diaspora. Thanks in large part to funding from the ‘Broadcasting Authority of Ireland' (B.A.I), CRC FM's ‘Sound and Vision' Team, while working closely with talented writers throughout the county, look forward to airing docudrama that showcases the wide variety of activity, culture and rich history that exists within the county of Mayo.
