This is the second year of Bank of Ireland’s National Student Awards for second level students that recognises exemplary performance in five categories at both junior and senior level – academic, art, outstanding achievement, sport and entrepreneurial spirit.  The 2007 finalists each receive €1,500 for themselves and €3,000 for their school. The overall National Winner will be awarded a cash prize of €3,000 plus €5,000 for their school.

Commenting on the Award, Enda McDonagh, Manager, Bank of Ireland Castlebar said: "These awards give us a platform to recognise students who have excelled in many ways, not only academically but also in sport, art and entrepreneurial spirit.   Previous winners have been an inspiration to all of us involved and nomination to the awards is additional testimony to that. I congratulate Caoimhe and Leigh on their achievement and I wish them both continued success as they go through their academic life."
