THE BATTLE OF CUCHULAINN AND FERDIA

Cuchulainn and Ferdia had been foster brothers when they were training to be warriors. When they grew up, Ferdia was in Queen Maeve's army which went to capture the Brown Bull from Cooley. Cuchulainn was in the Ulster army and he and Ferdia had to fight each other even though they were friends. Each night they dressed each others' wounds and the battle continued next day. In the end, Ferdia wounded Cuchulainn badly in the chest and Cuchulainn had to use his Magic Spear, The Gae Bolga, to kill his friend Ferdia. Stephen
