Our trip to Glasgow
On March 22nd we left for Dublin at 12:30 p.m. en route
to the World Dancing Championships in Glasgow. We arrived in Dublin
airport, checked in our bags and went upstairs for something to eat.
We had a look around the shops and at 7:20 p.m. we departed Dublin for
Prestwick airport. After arriving on time we got the train from the
airport to Glasgow Central Station.
From there we walked to the Travel Inn hotel where we met all of our
friends and team mates. We were feeling tired and it was quite late.
On Saturday morning we had a practice for the 16 - hand. In the afternoon
we got taxis to the Clyde Auditorium where we danced at 5 p.m. There
were ten teams competing and we were delighted to come in 4th place.
We lined up on stage and were presented with our medals. On Sunday we
got up at 5:30 a.m. We practiced at the auditorium at 7a.m. and we danced
at
8 a.m. We were placed 8th and 12th out of 57 teams. Amy and Elizabeth
took part in the 8 hand reel. We had a party that night that lasted...
. very late! On Monday we went shopping in the city centre. Some of
us bought stuffed teddies in "Bear Factory". We took a taxi
to the station and a train to the airport. Our flight left at 8:10 p.m
and we arrived in Dublin twenty minutes ahead of schedule (8:50 p.m.).
We collected our baggage and went home. We arrived in Kiltimagh at around
1:15 a.m. We enjoyed our trip to Glasgow and we would gladly go again.
