Proposal re: Fundraising in Holy Family N.S., Newport
We believe it is important that children are made aware of charities, and we believe pupils should be encouraged to get involved in particular fundraising activities in their school life.
At present in Holy Family N.S. we are involved in certain fundraising activities:

  • In November pupils participate in MS Readathon.  We believe this is a worthwhile activity, as it encourages children to read more.
  • During Lent, Trócaire Lenten boxes are distributed throughout the school.
  • The Silver Circle draws take place during the Spring Term also – this is a whole school effort to raise funds for the school.

If pupils propose to carry out a fundraising activity, the staff will give it consideration and permission if they feel it is worthwhile.
A fundraising event could also take place as a result of a national or international disaster.
