Welcome to Ms Gaughan's Class Web Pages. There are 29 boys in our class. This year we have a lovely new classroom in the school's new building. We have done lots of fun things this year. Click on the links at the side to learn more about our class.

	Green Schools Low Energy Day On Friday 24th of November we had a Low Energy Day at School. We were allowed have heat and light but we had to do without the computer, printer, cd player and anything else that uses energy. This was part of the Green schools project. We hope to renew our Green Schools Flag. Our class will be doing a project on Fossil Fuels as part of the project. Click here to learn more about Low Energy Day
	Shoe Box Appeal This year our school will be sending 240 shoeboxes to Armenia. Our class brought in lots of shoeboxes. Thank you so much to everyone who contributed. To see more pictures of the Shoe Box Appeal Click Here.
	Mayo Day 2006 On Friday 15th September, we had a Mayo Day in School, in preparation for the 2006 All Ireland Final against Kerry. We all dressed in the mayo colours & the whole school paraded through the town chanting Mayo songs. The TV3 film crew came to our school in the afternoon & they filmed us out on the yard. 	Swimming We have just completed a six week swimming course (Oct 06) at the Castlebar Swimming Pool. We really enjoyed learning how to swim. Our two instructors were great. We were in two groups - beginners & advanced. On our last day the two groups got together and we played soccer. It was class!!!
	Lough Lannagh Lanterns In October we went to the Linnenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar to make some lanterns for Lough Lannagh Lake on Hallowe'en Night. We worked in pairs. It was hard work but we enjoyed it.
	MS Readathon We are currently reading lots of books for the MS Readathon. To learn more about the MS Readathon,Click here.
	Cross Country In September, we went to Davitt College to participate in the School's Cross Country event. Click here for more pictures.

We love doing Art in our Class. So far we have done lots of nice things. See the pictures below.

	For Hallowe'en we created some Collages of Skeletons.

	For Hallowe'en we created a big Trick or Treat poster ro decorate our classroom.
	We learned all about the famous artist Monet & we created our impressions of one of his most famous paintings.

HALLOWEEN NIGHT

It was Halloween night. We were all outside. We were at the last house. We saw no-one was outside. The house was very dark. We walked very slowly on the path to the house. We knocked on the house. A red hand came out.
"Come in," said the man in a very creaky voice. We slowly walked in. He threw me in a room where it was really dark . Where was Rory? I climbed out and ran home. The next day when it was night there was Rory lying very still on the path. But where was the house?

TRICK OR TREAT

It was hallowen night. I was going trick or treating with my friends Robert, Charlie, Nathan, Thomas, Johnathan, Darragh, Conor, David and Kieran. We found a path. "Let's go down there," Robert said. "Yes," everyone agreed. We went down the path to a scary house. We knocked on the door. The door opened. None of us siad anything. There was a body lying on the floor. Just then a hand came out to grab my friends. Then we all woke up. "What happened to Robert?" I said. "I don't know," said David. "Let's get out of here." said Charlie. "Come on" said Conor. We tired to open the door but it would not work. "Wait," said Kieran "lets jump out the window." "Good idea" said Ryan so we went out. When we got out there were lots of graves then we saw a grim riper not just one lots. Then they took Thomas and Robert. "Help" they both said. Thomas got a nut out of his bag and stuck it in his eye. It let Thomas go but Robert disappeared.
