From Castlebar - County Mayo - Environment There will be a FREE Electrical Recycling Day in the Tesco Car Park, Castlebar, on Saturday, 25th June, 2011, from 10am to 4pm only. As many people as possible are encouraged to make use of this special collection day and check their attic or garden shed for any old electrical items which are no longer in working order - please see attached poster. WEEE Ireland was founded in 2005 and is the Irish compliance scheme for electrical and battery recycling in Ireland. They organise the processing and recycling of household waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and waste batteries from recycling centres, electrical retailers and other collection points covering over 80% of the geographic area of the Republic of Ireland. All householders will have an opportunity to recycle anything with a plug or a battery at the WEEE Ireland and Mayo County Council Free Household Electrical Recycling Day on 25th June, 2011. All waste electrical and electronic items collected on the day will be transported to WEEE Ireland's approved recycling facilities.
