Grow It Yourself - for home growers in Castlebar

GIY Castlebar will have a planning meeting on Monday 22 November, at 8pm, in the Le Cheile Family Resource Center, Tucker Street, Castlebar. This meeting is open to everyone who would like to give a hand to get this group off the ground. There has been a significant increase in the number of people interested in growing more of their own food in their own garden, allotment or windowsill - GIY groups are a great way to learn. GIY local groups work by helping people to learn from each other and to draw on the experience which exists already in their own community.

GIY is open to everyone, and there are no charges or fees. Please help us to get this group started as many hands make light work. For more details, contact Mícheál at giymayo@gmail.com. Looking forward to seeing you on Monday 22nd Nov.

NOTE: If you would like to see in advance how a GIY group works, you are invited to join Foxford GIY on Monday 15 November for our monthly meeting. This month we are looking at fruit and nut growing in Mayo conditions, as well as our usual smaller group chats where experienced growers share tips and solutions with the newer recruits. The GIY Foxford meeting takes place at 8pm in the Foxford Sports & Leisure Center just below the Mill.
