I've no problem in principle with ads either. However, i don't think they should be on the bb.
I also noticed that it wasn't until the Castlebar site became popular that Eircom wanted (insisted?) that an association was made with it.
Local ads would be great on the home page, but I can see what would happen:
Dunnes Stores, Supervalue, Pennys could afford top dollar for the space. Thus debasing the site's community spirit.
Don't get me wrong, these Co.s employ lots of people in castlebar and good luck to them, but if advertising is to be allowed it should cost the same for everyone.
