I think that its a bit unfair to label Castlebar e-town. While a large proportion of young people are regularly taking drugs I dont think its anything like 50 % Maybe 50% may have experimented with drugs at some point in their lives but I would estimate (purely from what Ive seen of people around me) that 25-30% are regular users and most of these would only be cannabis users. I do know people who take drugs but most people I know wouldnt touch them. While there has been a big increace in recent years in Castlebar I would say that were still nowhere near the level's seen in larger town's and cities.
