The new BB board may be slightly slower because all messages are indexed for by a search engine as they are posted. This means that you can use the BBSearch button to search through the archive for that particular gem of wisdom posted back a few months ago - well at least when the archive builds up.
Friday was, however, a particularly busy day on the Irish Internet at least - with some very slow connection speeds to the major ISPs.
There is no requirement to put a title or name - hence the Article nnn headings.
You CAN put URLs in by just pasting in the full URL - http://etc/etc.htm into the text of your message. The browsers do the rest underlining them for the reader and making them clickable. There were plenty of links posted like this over the last week. We will put up a FAQ to help with this kind of query - along with the infamous policy document which contributors are kindly writing for us!
We are still looking at alternative BBs, though. We are now using the basic default FrontPage system so it doesn't have very many bells and whistles (or maybe it has too many depending on how you look at it). If anyone has suggestions let's have them. Mr. Cranky's system has been suggested.
