I had to go over to Co. Roscommon today to rescue some "homeless refugees" from their flooded house While I was on the way I was listening to MWR for information on what roads were passable. While in fairness they had good Info initially this stopped they started broadcasting religious services. Shannonside (West Midlands Local station 103.1/104.1) was even worse ! Couldnt they have skipped the religious stuff for once and kept people informed. surely these masses/services are already available on RTE Radio 1 anyway and in these cases local information to enable people to travel safely is more important ? As for the Met office I think they did warn of bad weather but maybey didnt sufficently emphasise how bad it would be.
