Castlebar Blues Festival is 17 Years Old
6, Mar 2009 - 07:05

 16, going on 17

Seventeen years of age to some can seem quite young – however, at 17 I’ll still be the oldest in Ireland – or should I say - the longest running blues festival on this island!

I’m having my annual free party, held again on the June Bank Holiday weekend  (May 29th - June 1st) and everyone is invited -  I’ll get to see some old friends (Grainne Duffy & the Paul Sherry Band, The Dizzy Blues Band, Hat Fitz) and some new ones – Right, Left and Centre, Mark Black and many more.

You’ll find the blues party in most of the pubs in Castlebar pubs over the weekend – as well as some workshops and a window display competition - more news about these later.

My name is the Guinness Castlebar Blues Festival and you can get more information at www.castlebarblues.com

The organisers of the Guinness Castlebar Blues Festival are at the closing stages of finalising the remaining venues and acts - should any venue wish to participate please contact Declan 086 2658038 or Larry 087 0652414.
