GMIT The Galway/Mayo Institute of Technology

The RTC Castlebar is extremely proud of its hard won Institute of Technology (formerly the RTC) - now up and running with some 600 students and still growing. Richard Thorn, the principal, predicts that there will be 800 full time students by the turn of the millennium. The emphasis is on computers, electronics and business courses. The RTC is a major asset to Castlebar, providing skilled graduates which will fuel Castlebar's Information Age revolution. Already some of its computer science students are involved in the work on the Castlebar Web site.

The campus also has provision for campus companies in its development plans.

See GMIT's official site for contact details, courses, etc.
