A DREAM REALISED

Connie Menezes (of Indian origin but living in Westport) has dreamt of staging an Indian Festival for many years. The realisation of this dream took shape when Connie, Lyle McElderry and Bríd Kivneen attended a Festival at Dartington Hall, Devon in May 2011 which celebrated Rabindranath Tagore's vision and values.

"From the meeting of hearts, through the meeting of souls, great streams of truth will flow"

Tagore was a spiritual, social and earth activist whose poetry, plays, songs & stories, talks and teachings encapsulated his vision to serve the earth, lift the spirit and transform society. He went beyond art for art's sake or self-expression or entertainment. He saw art as a medium for self-awakening, transformation of consciousness, enlightening the soul; and changing the world. In other words, an opportunity for Utsava!
