Decadent Theatre and Nuns Island Theatre - Port Authority

THEATRE Monday 15th October @ 8.00pm

A young boy leaves home for the first time, a man begins a job for which he is not qualified, a pensioner receives a mysterious package... As each man confronts the significance of these events, they are forced to take stock of themselves, their feelings, and of the decisions they have made. In Conor McPherson's Port Authority we meet Kevin, Dermot and Joe, three generations of Irishmen. Painting a vivid picture of life in contemporary Dublin with great wit and compassion, one of Ireland's leading dramatists Conor McPherson (The Seafarer, Shining City, The Weir, Dublin Carol) expertly exposes the heart of common man in a moving and funny tale of loves lost and found, the consequences of big dreams and the significance of even our smallest
choices.

"McPherson uses poetry that glimmers in the dark to probe and prod at the Irish male psyche." - Lyn Gardner, The Guardian
"McPherson's haunting fugue on passive lives and loves that might have been. I found myself holding on to what these actors had to say as if I were a 5-year-old at bedtime being introduced to The Arabian Nights." - Ben Brantley, The New York Times
