Roolaboola 2014RoolaBoola is one of the leading children's arts festivals in Ireland

The celebrations include a selection of the highest calibre national and international children's theatre, music and dance shows as well as other arts events, including children's book readings, exhibitions, street performances and a multitude of hands-on arts workshops in a range of media for children and their families.

RoolaBoola takes place annually in the week leading up to and including the bank holiday weekend at the end of October.

After partaking in RoolaBoola you might like to avail of the many other family friendly indoor activities in Castlebar.


Family friendly outdoor activities include an abundance of short walks. We recommend a visit to Lough Lannagh where you can explore the Landmark sculpture trail, make use of the adult exercise machines and visit the playgrounds on both sides of the lake. There is also a playground located in the Town Park, a 6 minute walk from the Linenhall Arts Centre.
