History Book Launch.

Killasser History Published.
There was a large attendance, drawn from many counties, at Killasser Community Centre, for the formal launch of a 413 page book "Killasser: Heritage of A Mayo Parish" by Bernard O'Hara, a native of the area.

Mr. Bernard O'Hara (author) and Fr. John Durkan, PP. Killasser who launched the new history of the parish.

The book launch was performed by the Rev. Fr. John Durkan, PP. Killasser, who paid glowing tributes to the author and to all concerned with the production of this comprehensive publication. The M.C. for the event was the genial Micheal Murphy, a member of the Killasser/Callow Heritage Group.This beautifully produced book, Bernard's ninth publication, covers all aspects of the archaeology, folklore, and history of his native place, and it is obviously a labour of love. It is a book which has a broad appeal and it will be a welcome addition to the book shelves of all who have an interest in the heritage of Co. Mayo.
