The title of the lecture is - 'From Connaught to Kilmainham - New Light on Irish Viking Graves'.

Dr. Harrison is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and University College Cork and has taught at Trinity, University College Dublin, and NUI Maynooth, as well as in the UK and China. He has worked on a number of government-funded  research projects, including the Irish Viking Graves Project at the National Museum of Ireland.

Graves provide some of the best archaeological evidence for early Viking Activity in Western Europe. The Irish record is both unusually rich and exceptionally complex, with evidence for extensive grave-fields and many grave goods. For many years, the surviving records were very confused, but the Irish Viking Graves Project, based at the National Museum of Ireland, has recently completed its work. When combined with the evidence of recent excavations, it is now possible to shed new light on these fascinating momuments.

All are welcome
