The Sea Stallion from Glendalough.

The ship pictured at The National Museum, Collins Barracks, Dublin, is an exact replica of a Viking ship built in Dublin c.1042 and scuttled, together with other ships,  in Roskilde Fjord, Denmark, in 1072 as part of the city’s defences.

The vessel is powered by oars and sail and has a top speed of 15-20 knots.

The original is now on display in the Roskilde Ship Museum.

If you are in Dublin, it is worth while visiting Collins Barracks to see the vessel and all the other interesting artefacts on display.
